The Varying Costs of Siding

If money were no option, you would probably choose to brick your house rather than use siding. However, with all the different options, siding is a good alternative that will save you money. Siding can add curb appeal to any home.

Select a Siding

Vinyl siding and fiber cement sidings are two common choices in siding. There are also a number of other possibilities when choosing a siding for your house. Below is a brief description of siding selections available:

  • Vinyl siding comes in many color choices. This type of siding is quite durable. An added benefit is it is relatively cheaper than other siding options.
  • Fiber cement siding is durable and fireproof. A wood, stucco, or masonry look can be achieved with fiber cement siding.
  • A rich looking stone look can be accomplished by placing stone veneer siding on your home. Your home can appear to be finished in limestone, granite or slate at a fraction of the cost. Be cautious though, as some stone veneer significantly portrays an artificial look.
  • Wood siding is an option that will require maintenance. However, if properly maintained, wood siding can last longer than vinyl siding.
  • Brick veneer siding is a more economical alternative to brick. Brick is long lasting and durable, but can be expensive. Brick veneer siding can establish a brick facade, but it is not as durable as the real thing.
  • Aluminum siding is durable and fireproof. Although it will fade and can be easily dented, aluminum siding will not crack.

With so many different options available, be sure to do your research before purchasing siding for your home. You are sure to find the siding that will fit your budget and style.
