House Cleaning Checklist for Deep Cleaning
A house cleaning checklist is something that most professional housekeepers swear by. Writing down every chore that needs to be done, then checking it off, is a great way to keep your focus and gives you a sense of accomplishment as well. A checklist is good for daily and weekly chores, but is also a good tool for deep cleaning, which many people do around the time seasons change. Since some of these chores only get done three or four times a year, it is easy to forget them, which is why a checklist is a valuable tool.
What house cleaning chores should be on the checklist?
Deep cleaning occurs only every few months for most people, and can vary from home to home. The house cleaning tasks that will be on your checklist may not be the same as your neighbors, but there are a few that should be on every deep cleaning checklist. One of those is dusting. Most people dust a couple of times a month, which is okay, but when deep cleaning, every surface should be dusted, especially the ceiling fans and ceiling corners. Baseboards are also on the deep cleaning checklist, as well as vacuuming drapes and between couch cushions. When writing your checklist, go in order, working from the top of the room to the bottom.
What else do I need to do before beginning deep house cleaning?
Once you've figured out what house cleaning chores are on your checklist, you need to prepare. All of this prep-work will pay off; you'll spend more time and energy on the actual cleaning instead of running around looking for things. First, get a couple of laundry baskets; while straightening up, use the baskets to collect misplaced things. When you get to that room, then, you will have half of the job done already. Also, take of sheets and blankets and start them in the wash; when you are doing deep cleaning, sheets should take priority over other types of laundry.
