The volume of home sales in Park City hit $2 billion in 2005, more than tripling the $651 million of the previous year. Utah's continued ability to attract investment owes not only to its rapidly appreciating market, but also to Utah's lower construction and home remodeling costs. Utah contractors offer a range of high value home improvement services, including window replacement, home maintenance and pest control, and home exterior projects such as siding replacement.

In Utah as in other Western states, window replacement contractors experience the greatest demand. In some areas, homeowners recoup 103 percent of the costs. Minor kitchen remodels also keep Utah contractors busy, thanks to a return of up to 112.3 percent in some areas. These figures vary widely by region, but are generally higher than the national average.
