Contractors typically schedule and sign for deliveries, but they may ask you to assume some of that responsibility. Before you agree, consider your liability for ensuring the goods are in working order and meet the necessary specifications.

Regardless of whether you or the contractor is responsible, keep these details in mind:

·           verify the schedule for deliveries

·           double check on all the things you’ve ordered to make sure they will be there on time

·           What is the procedure for change orders?

·           What if a material you ordered does not arrive or is delayed?

·           What contingency plans can the contractor arrange?
