need for dividing plants:

A spade or shovel
·
A heavy-duty sharp knife or pruning saw
·
Pruning shears
·
Scissors
·
Water hose
Water and Mulch: Water thoroughly and cover soil with mulch made of chopped leaves, wood chips or evergreen boughs.
