This bold lobelia plant adds striking color to a shade garden.

This summer blooming phlox (David) blooms from June into early fall.

Try astilbes for a colorful impact in the shade. They range in color from white to pink and red and bloom in the summer.

Try sweetspire in a shady area. It has cream colored leaves and summer white flowers, then gets lots of burgundy coloring in the fall.

Verigated hostas can add nice two tone coloring to a shady area.

Hostas are popular perennials, as they love shade, have interesting leaf patterns and are easy to maintain. This is a Blue Cadet.

Daylilies are a great shade plant. Thin them out in the fall and spread them to a new part of your garden or donate them to a neighbor.
