It's time for new kitchen cabinets. You've checked out your options, but repainting, refinishing, or refacing won't give you the look or structural integrity you desire.

What's a Traditional Kitchen Cabinet?
Although you'll find cabinets out there that blur the line between traditional and contemporary style, there are a few things consistent with traditional cabinetry. The structure is often face-frame as opposed to contemporary's frameless, and there's going to be more detail. Traditional doors almost always have a panel inside. The panel can be raised, flat, or recessed - though this is sometimes known as Shaker. Drawers larger than six or seven inches also have panels, smaller ones do not. Cabinet hardware is generally ornate. You'll often find crown moldings, and,many traditional styles are glazed, sanded-through, or distressed when it comes to finishes.Why Go Traditional?
As the most popular cabinet style, many homeowners choose traditional cabinets for the timeless look and wide appeal. Traditional kitchen cabinets most often come with oak or maple wood doors, which are always beautiful .Traditional's Cousins: Country and Shaker
Here are some similiar styles to consider: Country cabinets are generally oak and feature recessed or raised door panels. The style is more casual than traditional, as it emphasizes simplicity over ornamentation. Shaker cabinets appear conservative, with three-inch wide recessed panel and strips that run along the edges and down the center of the door.Source
