Here are ways to
decorate a child's bath on a budget:
·
Use inexpensive, neutral tiles for your main
walls and floor, then add colorful, more expensive tiles in 3 or 4 key places.
·
Spend your
budget on towels and accessories that can be easily changed later.
·
Splurge on decorative hardware -- add soccer
balls or zoo animals for as little as $5 per knob.
·
Add decorative niches ($150-$200) into the
shower or bathtub wall for soaps and bathing toys. As the children grow older,
the niches can be used for shampoo.
·
Plan a craft day with your kids
so you can paint wooden boats and figurines to put on shelves in the bath.
·
Use paint to create the emphasis -- for $15
to $35 per gallon it's a great makeover.
·
Reuse drapes
from another room and tailor it to your design theme.
·
Buy a simple
shower curtain, then drape decorative fabric in a swag above it. (Sew the edges
or use iron on tape)
·
Look for
household items or check out garage sales for design ideas.
