Where to Apply Caulk?

Caulk should be applied to any space where air or insects can infiltrate the house. Here are some common places to check:

Outdoors

·               the area between windows and the structure of your home (brick, siding, etc.)

·               the area around doors

·               the area around the foundation, where it meets the structure of your home

·               the area where the chimney connects with the house

·               any openings created for electrical, cable or television wiring

·               the connections around dryer or bathroom vents

·               the area around a spigot

Inside

·                the area around window frames

·                the area around door frames

·                the place where the chimney connects with the wall

·                the joint where baseboards and crown molding meet the floor/wall

·                any connections around dryer and bathroom vents
