You've chosen vinyl siding for your home. Now what? Comparing vinyl siding companies is the next step, and it isn't an easy one. But with these simple steps, you can find the company you are most comfortable with, and your vinyl siding installation can begin.
Points to Compare with Vinyl Siding Companies
Start by making a list of vinyl siding companies in your area. Then narrow them down based on the following criteria:
- What's the history? How long has the company been in business? The longer their history, the more satisfied customers they will likely have. Check out their Better Business Bureau record, too.
- How many people? How many people the company employs will make a difference in how long it takes to complete your siding job. If you don't mind spending extra time, a smaller company will do.
- Licensed and insured? All contractors must be properly licensed and fully insured before they begin the work on your property. It is for your safety as well as theirs.
- References? Talk to those who have hired the contractors before. Were they happy with the job? Were there any surprises? Ask to see the work if possible.
- What's the bottom line? The bottom line estimate should take into account everything about the job, including disposal fees of the old materials. Keep in mind that the lowest estimate is not always the best.
- Guarantees and warranties? Finally, look into the warranties and guarantees provided. The siding should have a good warranty, and the work should be guaranteed for a set period of time. Most contractors will guarantee their work for a year or more.
Your new vinyl siding is a big investment, so take your time in choosing the contractor who will do the best job.
